Sri Ganapathi Sastri (aka B. S. Ganesh Rao) a Brahmana and devi upasaka (worshipers goddess Kali) of Karnataka has migrated in 1940 to Warangal. He noticed the old Bhadrakali temple and took interest in the renovation of the temple. He built a small house next to the temple and started in this remote place to live. He along with Sri Mudumbai Ramanujacharya sought the help of Sri Maganlal Sameja (a prominent local businessman) and other wealthy locals and renovated the old temple in 1950. Many people like Brahmasri Sri Hari Radhakrishnamurthy, Adluri Seetharama Shastry, Vangala Guravaiah, Thandra Venkata Rama Narsaiah Mahatapaswini Mangalambika and Tankasala Narasimha Rao have lent their hands in the renovation ~~ POS = TRUNC of the temple

The temple is square (2.7 x 2.7 meters) formed with a stone image of the goddess. The image is sitting with a fierce look in her eyes and on her face. The goddess wears a crown and has eight hand holding various weapons.There is an artificial lake of two and a half km radius near the temple.Natural rock formations to add the charm of the temple and are the dominant feature of the temple. The highlight Bhadrakali temple is the lake next to the temple. The lake has a capacity of 160 million cubic feet (MCFT). Earlier rain the only source of water for this lake and during the drought season was, the lake completely dried up. About 20 years ago of Kakatiya Canal pipelines were laid, bringing the water from Dam ManAir in Karimnagar and now the lake is all year round fully. Bhadrakali lake is now used as a source of drinking water for Warangal and Hanamkonda cities. The AP Tourism has introduced Boats in the lake, and you can enjoy a good relaxing boat ride on the lake.

Warangal is about 150 km from Hyderabad (Telangana, India) and is easily accessible by car or by train. It has two bus terminals connected in Warangal and Hanamkonda and to many cities in Telangana.
